Farace here. Seattle, you’re getting NORMAL — which is funny, because if there’s one thing Seattle loves, it’s acting like everything is normal while quietly spiraling underneath. This movie is about a substitute sheriff who responds to a simple bank robbery and ends up uncovering a whole mess of secrets, corruption, and people trying to kill him. So yeah… not exactly your typical quiet town situation. Bob Odenkirk’s just trying to lay low, deal with life, and instead gets thrown into absolute chaos where nothing is what it seems — kind of like ordering a simple coffee in Seattle and somehow ending up in a 10-minute conversation about bean origin and life choices. You’ve got a shady mayor, criminals everywhere, and a situation that escalates way beyond what anyone signed up for. We’ve got advance screening passes for 4/7 at 7pm while supplies last, so grab yours before someone here overanalyzes the word “normal” and misses the movie entirely.

Seattle – AMC Pacific Place

Synopsis

An unassuming substitute sheriff with a troubled past responds to a bank robbery in a small, sleepy town and unknowingly uncovers something far more explosive.

For Sheriff Ulysses (Bob Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty. But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a dark secret is inadvertently exposed, and Ulysses soon discovers that the town (and its mayor, played by Henry Winkler) is anything but its namesake. Suddenly everyone is trying to shoot the sheriff, and our put-upon policeman must rely on his affable mettle and some motley crooks if he is to survive the night (and that’s all before the Yakuza show up).

A double-barreled shotgun blast of pure mayhem from the creators of JOHN WICK and NOBODY.  Starring Bob Odenkirk, Henry Winkler, and Lena Headey.

The latest collaboration between Bob Odenkirk and JOHN WICK creator Derek Kolstad andNOBODY producer Marc Provissiero, director Ben Wheatley’s (FREE FIRE, HIGH RISE).

NORMAL is a Magnolia Pictures release in theaters nationwide April 17.
