When fans of a show wait nearly three years for said show to return, you know you’ve got something great that has built a rock-solid fan base. Now, you’ll notice that I never said those fans would wait patiently, did I? We’ve all been particularly patient because we have been waiting through a pandemic. Yet, after those 3 years, fans of Stranger Things are as excited as they could possibly be with the much-anticipated Season 4 hitting Netflix on May 27th, 2022. The question is whether the payoff was worth the wait! Let’s get to it.

I really enjoyed how the season begins. Instead of a recap of last season, we hear Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) voice as she writes a letter to Mike and gives him updates on all the main characters. For instance, this one is painting, this one got a new job, these people are weird now and some people are smoking super smelly plants. I will let your imagination run with that last one. The Duffer brothers really set the tone here and they do it in a very interesting way.

Remember, these episodes are long. There is going to be some character building along the way and as Stranger Things typically does with all their characters, they knock it out of the park. There are some slow burns, but nothing that would drive you to tune out or zone out – these guys know what they are doing. If you do find yourself slipping, make sure not to do it for episodes 6 and 7 – it’s payoff city. Twists, turns, discoveries…it’s what we are here for, and they deliver. End of episode 7? Massive cliffhanger. Huge. Cliffhanger.

Please make sure to follow us in as many places as possible!

In Volume 1, Stranger Things brings back the gang (what’s left of it) and seamlessly brings in new characters in a very efficient manner. I can see how some more casual fans could find some issues with the pacing; diehards should have zero concerns. I mean, there are concerns to be had throughout the Volume, but it’s on-screen concerns for your favorite characters. The great thing is that we don’t have to wait too long as we hang off the cliff. Volume 2 will hit Netflix on July 1 – we only get 2 more episodes after this, but it’ll be almost 4 hours of greatness.

Make sure you watch ASAP and stay away from any potential spoilers! Good luck.
