I’m not sure about all of you, but I remember P!nk taking a backseat to a couple more much more widely popular artists in Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. I remember it being all about those two and what they were up to. Well, all these years later, P!nk has a documentary coming out on Amazon Prime and we don’t hear much from Christina and all we hear about Britney is the drama she is going through. Sometimes it’s not how you start out of the gate, but which one is left standing in the end. ALL I KNOW SO FAR takes us behind the scenes for a look at the Beautiful Trauma Tour from 2019.
This documentary opens with 20 days left before Wembley Stadium (kind of a big deal) as the P!nk clan was in Amsterdam. On this particular tour, the kids came along for the ride and we get to know Willow (P!nk’s daughter and oldest) and Jameson – he will be the little rascal running around throughout the tour with a diaper on. We also get to meet P!nk’s husband of 15 yrs, Carey Hart. P!nk talks about why female artists don’t tour after having kids, but she said she just enjoys seeing the world with them. You get the hint very early on that we can slam the door shut on the theory that the filthy rich never raise their own kids. It happens right before your eyes in this one.
ALL I KNOW SO FAR does a really good job showing all that P!nk has to balance. She’s a singer, performer, artist, boss, mother, and wife and we get to experience every bit of that juggling act. We also learn about her childhood and why she was raised with the values she has – hard work and dedication just to name a couple. Imagine getting ready to perform in front of 80,000 people and trying to stay healthy on a tour bus while caring for your sick child. That situation is not for the faint of heart. Also, have you seen some of the things she does at her concerts? I got dizzy just watching it!
If you have followed me at all, you know I love documentaries. For this one, I loved how they alternate between what is going on behind the curtain and some of her amazing performances. The transitions are seamless and really well done. We get to know her immediate and extended (her crew aka her village) families and they absolutely intertwine and it is a pretty cool thing to watch. I’ve always been a fan, but getting to see some of the behind-the-scenes moments and just the connection she wants to have with her family, her village, and her fans is simply amazing and should be applauded.
