Hey all – Steve here. We are marking our 2nd Christmas with our Top 10 Christmas flicks! As per usual, we will start off with our individual lists – I even included the list found on Ranker for good measure. After that, you get the rundown of our combined lists into our definitive Top 10!

The best part about this list is that it often changes. It’s OK that it happens as our tastes and traditions may change throughout the years. Let’s get to it!

10. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Is this a Halloween flick or a Christmas flick? I don’t mean to make waves, but it’s on our top 10 Christmas flick list so there is your answer! I actually have no issue if you fall on either side of the fence on this one. The movie is pretty damn good and I hope you all are continuing to ensure this is seen by younger generations!

9. It’s a Wonderful Life

Now here is a class I know for sure is not being seen enough these days by younger generations. That’s a shame because it really should be an annual viewing. It isn’t in my top 10, but it doesn’t mean it’s not a must-see each year! Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings.

8. Home Alone 2

I think the camps for both Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are pretty close in size. I’m not sure if I lean more towards Home Alone 2 because it’s the better flick or if I’m from New York. I like the fact that we go from a house to a city and it increases the possibilities of craziness happening. No matter what you have heard about the City, it is a must-see during Christmastime and maybe that is what makes this one the better of the two.

7. Home Alone

I do have to admit that if you give the nod to this one because it is the one that started it all? Well, who am I kidding? All 2? Although the most recent is pretty harmless and doesn’t feel like a total waste of time – it’s on Disney+. The nail through the foot scene kills me every time. Clearly an all-time classic!

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey)

I remember how excited I was to check this one out in theaters. I was 19 back then and I’m 40 now. In between, my firstborn son and now my little man have grown to love the Grinch. My oldest would watch it well into June and this one holds a special place within my family traditions. I know a lot of people who didn’t love it and at this point, I’m only pretending to be friends with them.

5. A Christmas Story

Did someone mention classic? This one is an all-timer if I ever saw one. So many quotable moments that are actually good throughout the year. All the poor kid wanted was a rifle for Christmas. It just goes to show ya that no matter if we do or do not get what we want, we can laugh about it along the way!

4. Die Hard

Don’t even start with me. Not only is Die Hard one of the best action flicks of all time, but it is also one of the best Christmas flicks of all time. Hey, the list doesn’t lie. For those of you with friends or family who have not seen this one yet, the best gift you can get them is to free them from their misery. They will thank you for it later!

3. Elf

It’s time for the top 3! Elf became a Christmas classic relatively quickly and you can see why based on just one viewing. It’s really hard to find someone that doesn’t like this one. I’ve had my ups and downs in my relationship with Will Ferrell, but this is a thumbs way up for me. It’s 3rd on my list as well as this overall (and definitive) ranking. This is one you should be seeing multiple times a year.

2. Scrooged

This one is a surprise for me. Not that it is on the list as it is a great flick, but that it is as high up on the list as it is. Bill Murray is a national treasure and should be treated as such. Perhaps I disrespected this one a bit by not including it on my list, but I’m glad it made the overall list!

  1. Christmas Vacation

Taking the top spot for our 2021 Top 10 Christmas flicks list is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! I actually lose track of how many times I watch this one each year. It’s got it all and always quite funny. Christmas isn’t officially here until this one starts being played in my house.

That’ll do it this time around for our Top 10! We will be back soon, but until then, we would love to know some of your top Christmas flicks! But, before that check out some of the flicks that didn’t quite make our overall list!

Lethal Weapon

Gremlins

Love Actually

Bad Santa

Jingle All the Way

The Night Before

The Family Stone

Ernest Saves Christmas

A Miracle on 34th Street

The Muppets Christmas Carol
