You’ll never see it coming. That’s the tagline WWE has decided to go with for the biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam. I’m not sure why WWE has decided on these cheese taglines for their pay per views, but they have not been working. The Horror Show at Extreme Rules was exactly that, a horror. What SummerSlam has going for itself is that it won’t be in the Performance Center and it will be the first PPV in the new Thunderdome.
Normally SummerSlam is the second, or even the best PPV of the year. It’s never about the old school wrestlers coming back, well besides Brock Lesnar, but it showcases the talent WWE has built and are behind. However, instead of showcasing the women’s division, they’ve placed all the titles on Bayley & Sasha Banks and have Asuka facing both. Creative has dug themselves into a pit here. So much for the Women’s Revolution. When is Charlotte coming back again?
I’m just being critical here. Who knows WWE might just surprise us at SummerSlam and we won’t even see it coming.
