Hey all, Steve here. As with the other rundowns this month, there is just no time for chat-chit. Let’s hit it!
* = is exclusive to Peacock
September 1
About a Boy, 2002* – This is one that you could live without seeing.
Along Came Polly, 2004 – I know it has tons of problems, but this is a guilty pleasure for me. It’s a “check your mind at the door” flick and I’m all for these every now and then.
American Assassin, 2013
American Heist, 2015* – I don’t believe I’ve ever seen his one, and judging by its ratings I’m certainly not missing much!
American Pie, 1999* – Cult classic. Hands down. I haven’t seen it in at least 10-15 years. Might revisit for a laugh soon!
American Pie 2, 2001* – I enjoyed this one as well. Most things are not as good as the original. Deal with it.
American Wedding, 2003* – I don’t remember a thing about this one. Like zero. I know I’ve seen it. Not a good sign!
An American Werewolf in London, 1981*
Angels & Demons, 2009*
Any Given Sunday, 1999* – If this one doesn’t get you pumped up as a sports fan, nothing will. That being said, the acting isn’t great and there are holes in this one, but enjoy it for what it’s worth. If nothing else, find the Pacino speech from this one and check it out.
Baby Mama, 2008* – Nobody from this cast makes me laugh. Not Tina Fey or Amy Poehler, not Kinnear or Shepard. Maybe I’ll give you Romany Malco, but that’s it.
Beetlejuice, 1988* – Don’t you dare say his name 3 times. We’ve had 2 straight shit years. Let’s stay clear of this guy. Great movie, btw.
The Best Man, 1999
The Big Lebowski, 1998 – What a classic! I can watch this daily.
Blade, 1998* – This is the one that started it all.
Breakin’ All the Rules, 2004
Child’s Play, 1988*
Conan the Barbarian, 2011*
Coneheads, 1993 – I’ve enjoyed this one each time I’ve seen it, but can it possibly hold up in 2021?
The Croods, 2013*
Criminal, 2016*
The Da Vinci Code, 2006* – Not the best flick for Hanks, but his hair was never better.
The Deer Hunter, 1978*
Don Verdean, 2015*
Draft Day, 2014 – Draft day is a blast for any fan of really any sport and especially for those that play fantasy sports!
Dragonheart, 1996*
E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial, 1982* – Class, and one of the best ever made.
Enemy of the State, 1998 – Very solid flick here. You can’t go wrong with a Smith/Hackman combo.
The Express, 2008*
The Forbidden Kingdom, 2008*
The Fourth Kind, 2009*
Friday Night Lights, 2004*
Get Him to the Greek, 2010* – This one missed the mark for me. I felt it was a little too dark for what it was.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, 2011
Gods of Egypt, 2016*
The Help, 2011 – I love this flick. It is both hilarious and painful to watch. It’s a must-see for me
Hotel Rwanda, 2004
The Interview, 2014
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 2014*
Kick-Ass 2, 2013 – Nope..
Knocked Up, 2007* – Such a great comedy and that was a great time for comedies overall.
The Last Witch Hunter, 2015*
Law Abiding Citizen, 2009*
The Legend of Zorro, 2005
Let Me In, 2010*
MacGruber, 2010*
Mallrats, 1995
Marauders, 2016
The Mask of Zoro, 1998
The Mustang, 2019*
Notting Hill, 1999
One True Thing, 1998*
Ouija, 2014
Out of Africa, 1985*
Out of Sight, 1998
Parenthood, 1989*
Phantasm II, 1988
The Social Network, 2010 – Arguably the best of its decade.
Soul Food, 1997
Soul Plane, 2004
Tombstone, 1993
Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection, 2012
United 93, 2006 – I know why, but it’s always painful to watch.
Wedding Crashers, 2005* – One of my favorite comedies of all time. Soooo damn funny.
World Trade Center, 2006 – I thought that this was a thoughtful, and for the most part, well-done movie.
The World’s End, 2013
