Hey, all – Steve here. Another Friday means another batch of newness on Apple TV+! Let’s get to it!

This week, the hit Apple Original workplace comedy “Mythic Quest,” from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz, returns for its third season. “Mythic Quest” season three will premiere with the first two episodes this Friday, November 11, followed by one new episode weekly through January 6, 2023.

Also premiering this week is a special election wrap-up episode of the Emmy and WGA Award nominated series “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” as well as new episodes of “Shantaram,” “The Mosquito Coast” season two, “Acapulco”season two and “Central Park” season two. Kids and families can also enjoy “Circuit Breakers,” the latest addition to Apple’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning family friendly offering, which premieres with the complete first season this Friday on Apple TV+.

“Mythic Quest” season three premiere

“Mythic Quest” follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, molding heroes and creating legends, but the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. In season three, as Ian and Poppy navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, Dana is forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering. Back at Mythic Quest, David settles into his new role as the boss where he truly finds himself in charge for the first time with Jo returning as his assistant — more loyal and militant than ever; and Carol attempts to figure out where she fits in after a new promotion. At Berkeley, Rachel struggles to balance her morals with capitalism, while a post-prison Brad tries to return to society as a reformed man.

Co-created by McElhenney, Charlie Day and Ganz (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), the series stars McElhenney, Nicdao, Hornsby, who also executive produces, Pudi, Burch, Hakim, Ennis and Naomi Ekperigin.

Season three of “Mythic Quest” premieres with the first two episodes on Friday, November 11, followed by one new episode weekly through January 6, 2023. 

“The Problem With Jon Stewart” – Election Wrap-Up Special Episode

In Emmy and WGA Award nominated Apple Original series “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” acclaimed host, writer, producer, director and advocate Jon Stewart, recipient of the 2022 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, leads with compassion and humor as he takes a deep dive into some of the most important issues of our time, tackling topics including gender, taxes, globalization, elections and more. Using comedy and common sense, the series features tough, topical and culture-moving conversations from the perspectives of stakeholders, experts and individuals confronting these issues.

“The Problem With Jon Stewart” is hosted and executive produced by Stewart through his Busboy Productions. The series is executive produced by showrunner Brinda Adhikari, alongside Stewart’s longtime manager James Dixon, Chris McShane and Richard Plepler through his Eden Productions, which has an exclusive overall production deal with Apple. Lorrie Baranek and Reza Riazi are supervising producers and Kris Acimovic is head writer.

In this week’s special election wrap-up episode, Stewart explores who won? Who lost? Are we still a democracy? All we know is that everyone is happy and absolutely no on is questioning the results.

“The Mosquito Coast – new episode

Based on Paul Theroux’s best-selling novel and starring Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish, and Gabriel Bateman, “The Mosquito Coast” follows the dangerous journey of Allie Fox, a brilliant inventor and stubborn idealist, who uproots his family on a dangerous quest to find refuge from the U.S. government, cartels, and hitmen. In season two, after barely escaping Mexico with their lives, the Foxes venture deep into the Guatemalan jungle to meet up with an old friend and her community of refugees. This new refuge creates trouble for the Foxes though when they become entangled in a conflict between the scions of a local drug lord. At odds about whether to settle down or keep moving, Allie and Margot pursue different paths to secure their family’s future. The outcome of which will either unite the family or tear it apart forever. 

The second season of “The Mosquito Coast” is executive produced by Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, Stefan Schwartz, Evan Katz, Rupert Wyatt, author Paul Theroux, and series star Justin Theroux. Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen and Bob Bookman serve as executive producers for Veritas Entertainment Group. The series is created for television and executive produced by Neil Cross. Developed by Neil Cross & Tom Bissell, “The Mosquito Coast” is a Fremantle Production for Apple TV+.

In this week’s new episode, “Least Concern Species,” after a storm capsizes their boat, the Foxes work to repair it so they won’t be stranded by rising waters in an unforgiving jungle.

The second episode of “The Mosquito Coast” season two debuts this Friday, November 11 on Apple TV+.

Acapulco” season two – new episode 

Starring Eugenio Derbez, “Acapulco” is a bilingual comedy series that tells the story of twenty-something Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco. Season two picks up right on the heels of season one, in 1985, Máximo must contend with upheaval at the resort, unexpected problems at home and a new love interest who just might rival the girl of his dreams. Under Don Pablo’s guidance, he sets his eyes on one day running the entire Las Colinas operation by becoming the right-hand man of Diane. Meanwhile, in present day, older Máximo (Derbez) returns to Acapulco to make peace with the recent passing of Don Pablo, where he is forced to confront some unfinished business young Máximo left behind.

Joining Derbez in the 10-episode second season are returning stars Arrizon, Fernando Carsa (as Memo), Damián Alcázar (Don Pablo), Camila Perez (Julia), Chord Overstreet (Chad), Vanessa Bauche (Nora), Regina Reynoso (Sara), Raphael Alejandro (Hugo), Jessica Collins (Diane), Rafael Cebrián (Hector) and Carlos Corona (Esteban).

In this week’s new episode, “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” Maximo takes Memo to a club to find his favorite soccer star. Sara spends an eventful night at Las Colinas.

The fifth episode of “Acapulco” season two premieres this Friday, November 11 on Apple TV+.

“Shantaram” – New episode 

Based on the internationally best-selling novel by Gregory David Roberts and starring Charlie Hunnam, “Shantaram” is a highly anticipated Apple Original series and hopeful cinematic love story coupled with a thrilling epic adventure that follows one man’s journey to redemption through a country that changes his life. 

“Shantaram” follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he’s running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it. In addition to Hunnam, the series stars Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilbey, Fayssal Bazzi, Luke Pasqualino, Antonia Desplat, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, Rachel Kamath, Matthew Joseph, and Shiv Palekar.  The series is co-created, written and executive produced by Steve Lightfoot, who also serves as showrunner. Bharat Nalluri directs and executive produces.

In this week’s new episode, “Apo Vai Pranah,” as cholera hits Sagar Wada, Lin tries to fight the outbreak. Khader gains leverage over Pandey, and Maurizio expands his business.

The seventh episode of “Shantaram” premieres this Friday, November 11, on Apple TV+.

Circuit Breakers” – new series for kids & families 

“Circuit Breakers” is a half-hour futuristic anthology series that tackles kid-relatable issues through a sci-fi lens. But not everything is as it seems, and their curiosity leads to chaos. The series was created by Melody Fox with executive producer Matt Hastings directing the pilot episode. “Circuit Breakers” is executive produced by Andrew Orenstein, Cottonwood Media’s Sarah Haasz, David Michel and Cécile Lauritano, Aircraft Pictures’ Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen, and Todd Berger. 

The first season of “Circuit Breakers” premieres November 11 on Apple TV+.

“Central Park” season three  – new episode

Apple’s NAACP Image and Emmy Award-nominated, original animated musical comedy from creator, writer and executive producer Loren Bouchard, Josh Gad and Nora Smith stars a renowned voice cast that includes Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess and Stanley Tucci. New guest stars featured in the second season include Aparna Nancherla, Billy Porter, Catherine O’Hara, Ellie Kemper and Naomi Ekperigin.

In the third season of “Central Park,” as Bitsy continues her relentless pursuit to buy the park, Owen embarks on a new promotional campaign to make more people fall in love with it, and Paige finds herself busier than ever when she lands her first book deal.

In this week’s new episode, “A Hot Dog to Remember,” when a beloved hot dog vendor has to take a rare morning off, Owen and Cole volunteer to help set up his cart so he can break a park record.

“Central Park” season three, episode twelve premieres this Friday on Apple TV+.

“Spirited” – New Apple Original Film

Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present and future. For the first time, “A Christmas Carol” is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale. From Director Sean Anders (“Daddy’s Home,” “Instant Family”), written by Sean Anders and John Morris, with original songs by Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“La La Land”) and production numbers choreographed by Chloe Arnold (“The Late Late Show with James Corden”), this modern retelling is a sweet and spicy holiday treat. 

“Spirited” will premiere in theaters on November 11 and globally on Apple TV+ on November 18, 2022.

“Interrupting Chicken” – new series for kids & families

This animated preschool series based on the 2011 Caldecott Honor-winning book series written and illustrated by David Ezra Stein, “Interrupting Chicken” introduces children to the joy of creative writing — starting with a young little chicken named Piper who has a habit of interrupting storytime! Every time Piper hears a story, she can’t help but jump in, ask questions and let her imagination run wild as she tries to fill in details, guess what happens next or insert herself in the middle of the action to help save the day. “Interrupting Chicken” was developed by Emmy Award winner Ron Holsey who serves as executive producer. In partnership with Mercury Filmworks, the series stars the voice talents of three-time Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us,” “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul”) and is executive produced by Holsey, Stein, Loris Kramer Lunsford, Clint Eland and Chantal Ling. Dr. Lucy Calkins, founding director of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and the Richard Robinson Professor of Children’s Literature at Teachers College, Columbia University, serves as our reading and writing expert through the Apple TV+ changemaker initiative.  

Season one premieres Friday, November 18 on Apple TV+.
