Hey all, Steve here. Look, I get it – the lineup isn’t hitting. But we know that they will. The lineup is too good for everyone to be in a slump for the entire season. There is nobody who is immune from being booed in New York City, but please just stop booing Lindor after 19 games – you’re embarrassing. Leave that for those who are struggling and not hustling and not being a leader in the field. It makes zero sense – but I do hope to hear some boos for him this weekend! Let’s get to it.

Mets (9-10) vs Phillies (12-13)

Game 1

Marcus Stroman (3-1 2.25 ERA) vs Chase Anderson (0-3, 6.48 ERA)

Yes, Stroman had a rough outing last time out against the Nationals. There were some defensive miscues as well as just an awful rookie umpire behind home plate. Stroman is a vet who will put that behind him as he tries to get the Mets off to a nice start to the series. Chase Anderson is 0-3 and the Phillies have lost all 4 of his starts thus far. He got beat up in Colorado last time by a really feeble Rockies lineup – but, of course, any team can score some runs there. Check out the lineups for tonight:

Game 2

Taijuan Walker (1-1 2.14 ERA) vs Zack Wheeler (2-2, 3.13 ERA)

Walker really bounced back nicely last time out against the Nationals. I have to admit I was a little concerns after his start against the Cubs and he cut down on my stress last time out. 7 innings and 95 pitches – as efficient as he has been so far with the Mets and he got his first win as a Met because of it. Did you hear what Adam Wainwright had to say about Zack Wheeler? Sit down because it is OUT THERE. Wainwright compared Wheeler to deGrom and Scherzer. Blank stare…

Mets vs Wheeler

Conforto – 11 AB .273 0 HR 1 RBI

JD Davis – 9 AB .444 1 HR 3 RBI

Lindor – 4 AB .500 0 HR 0 RBI

McNeil – 8 AB .375 0 HR 0 RBI

Nimmo – 15 AB .286 0 HR 0 RBI

Dom – 13 AB .462 0 HR 2 RBI

Phillies vs Walker

Bryce Harper – 7 AB .143 0 HR 1 RBI

Andrew McCutchen – 8 AB .125 0 HR 1 RBI

Game 3

David Peterson (1-3 5.59 ERA) vs Zach Eflin (1-1, 3.58 ERA)

This will be Peterson’s 3rd start against the Phillies this season – he will have to switch it up on them yet again as he pitched much better in the 2nd game than the 1st. This is a prime-time game for the Mets and if you are a Mets fan you have to hope that the bats come alive during this series and by Sunday night all systems are a go!

Mets vs Eflin

Alonso – 9 AB .333 1 HR 1 RBI

Conforto – 26 AB .269 3 HR 8 RBI

McNeil – 18 AB .222 0 HR 1 RBI

Nimmo – 11 AB .091 0 HR 0 RBI (there’s a good chance Nimmo is rested on Sunday)

Pillar – 6 AB .500 1 HR 2 RBI (and there’s a good chance Pillar gets the start)

Dom – 9 AB .222 9 HR 0 RBI

Villar – 7 AB .143 0 HR 0 RBI

Phillies vs Peterson

Bryce Harper – 8 AB .375 0 HR 0 RBI

Rhys Hoskins – 8 AB .625 2 HR 3 RBI

Andrew McCutchen – 6 AB .000 0 HR 0 RBI
