Farace here, and Portland, you’re getting HOPPERS — a Pixar-level “sure, why not” where a girl hops her brain into a robot beaver to talk to animals and immediately proves that humans should not be trusted with cool technology. Mabel teams up with a very confident beaver named King George to rally the animal kingdom against a smooth-talking mayor, which feels extremely on brand for a city that takes its wildlife, coffee, and opinions very seriously. It’s colorful, loud, and proudly weird in that “this absolutely commits to the bit” way, and yes, a robot beaver is somehow the most reasonable character in the story.
