(A month and change later than expected)- No these weren’t late but I am leaving this here anyway
EDITORS NOTE
I changed the format a little bit this week. Hope everyone likes it. Tried to do a one-liner on each team and NO, not all of them are serious. Also, keep a look out towards the end of the week for a trade deadline recap.
Note: Win/Loss/Ot Loss over last 10 games.
A Couple Notes
- 1st Florida Panthers (1st Place Atlantic Division)- WOW This team is heating up. Some people said they were a year early last year and somehow they look like a more complete team this year. They now lead the league in Goal Differential. Tkachuk has 42 points in 24 games in 2024. BOB Has entered the Vezna discussion and backup Anthony Stolarz leads the league in Goals Against Average (minimum 15 games started)
- 11th Vegas Golden Knights (3rd Place Pacific Division)- The Trade deadline is nearing. You know what that means? A Key Golden Knights player is going on LTIR so they can circumvent the cap again. They better be careful though. They now only have a 1 point lead on the Kings for that 3rd Pacific Division slot.
- 7th Toronto Maple Leafs (3rd Place Atlantic Division)- They are the hottest team in hockey right now and had a big albeit controversial win on Saturday against the Rangers. Should you start to believe in them? Probably not they do this every year. Also with their lack of tradeable resources, there is not a ton of ways for them to improve their D-Core which looks shaky at best or their middling Goaltending.
- 25th Pittsburgh Penguins (7th Place Metro Division)- Listen I get it we all hate them, but Sidney Crosby is doing things no one does at his age. Yet, it’s all for not. They are one of the worst teams in the league and will likely be moving Jake Guentzel by Friday’s Trade deadline. The era in Pittsburgh is changing.
- 24th New Jersey Devils (6th Place Metro Division)- A team with this much talent should not be this bad. Their season can be summed up by a stretch they had over the weekend while late in the game they were trailing by a goal and pulled their goalie. The only problem was they forgot to send out a 6th skater. Feels like some big changes could be coming in the offseason.
As always, I hope everyone enjoys these. I would love to hear some feedback from everyone or even just some ordinary questions that I would be happy to answer.
