Welcome to Wild Card Weekend, the first chapter of the NFL playoffs, where we see who really has what it takes. Last week, the final week of the regular season, was a mixed bag. I (Farace) and Ed both pulled off solid 11-5 records, while Bruce stayed respectable at 10-6. Dave and Anthony ended up at 9-7, and Tim…well, at 8-8, I guess he was practicing for March Madness. Overall, we wrapped up Week 18 at 58-38 (60.42%).
For the season, the standings have tightened! I’m still holding the top spot at 196-76, but Ed is only three games back at 193-79. Tim, Anthony, Bruce, and Dave round things out, all within striking distance for the postseason stretch. It’s been a season of ups, downs, and…more downs for some (cough Melo), but now it’s time for the real action to begin.
The playoffs are here, and we’ve got some intriguing matchups to kick things off. The Texans knocked out the Chargers yesterday in a surprising 32-12 blowout, and the Ravens ended the Steelers’ hopes last night with a 28-14 win. Today, we’ve got the Broncos at the Bills, Packers at Eagles, and Commanders at Bucs. Then, we close the weekend with the Vikings and Rams on Monday Night Football. Locks are in, trash talk is flowing, and as always, our picks will roll on through the Super Bowl. Who’s taking it all? Stay tuned.
